Stockfield Community Association along with partners Birmingham PlayCare Network and Arts in the Yard have been working across Acocks Green for several years. Together we have delivered; fun days, tea dances Play in Parks sessions, Heritage sessions, sports sessions and a whole host of community events.

In 2019 we were awarded a Big Lottery Reaching Communities Grant to work in partnership on a project called Building Community Together. This five year project focuses on realising the aspirations of residents on the Stockfield Estate and the wider Acocks Green area.

***UPDATE***The official launch of the Project was planned to take place in April during the Easter break of 2020; local organisations and residents were invited.

Unfortunately, on March 23rd a few weeks before the launch event was scheduled we went into a national lockdown due to Covid 19 and we were unable to officially launch the Project to our communities.

Early on in the pandemic we recognised the need to adapt our services to support the community, based on the local intelligence of the organisations and networks we work with.

Although we were unable to meet and engage with community in the way we had originally planned we still wanted to attempt as much as we could to meet the outcomes.

Below is a review of our Year One activity and our progress so far, we hope that this year will be even better, with an optimism that we will be able to engage in more face to face services as 2021 progresses.
